Welcome!
Open Mike Night happens EveryOnce a month on the Last Wednesday nightof Every month at the Hotel Vernon "Ship Room" Kelley Square in Worcester, MA. We offer 20 to 30 minute sets for your acoustic performance from 8:00 to 11:00pm
Our target musicians are the occasionalnew players, and part time players who need a relaxed venue to work out your chops. Although, occasionally, we sometimes get a "ringer" to show up and play. That's always fun! We provide a Great PA system, an upright piano on stage. Theres NO cover charge and PBR draft beers are only $1
This is truely a great room to play.play with excellent acoustics.
This historic room, built to comemmorate the end of prohibition in the 1930's, was designed to look like the hull of the Mayflower complete with lighted portholes and a ships wheel donated by singer/actor Burl Ives. It was a frequent watering hole for slugger, Babe Ruth back in the day. The "Ship Room" is still in tact in its original form and the acoustics there are wonderful due to all the aged wood. The bar is decorated with nauticle murels painted by local T&G illustrator Al Capp and Al Banks who penned the nationally sindicated Lil' Abner comic strips.
